As I told you before, exploring fried duck in Surabaya is like a never ending story. This time, I would like to show one of the most famous fried duck restaurant in Surabaya, "Bebek Goreng Palupi"!

"Bebek Goreng Palupi" is one of the most well known fried duck restaurant in Surabaya. Everyone just loves it! It is not only popular in Surabaya. Most of people visiting Surabaya, will make sure they stop by this place to experience one of the best fried duck in town. Even, some of them usually buy it uncooked to be brought home.
The location can be easily reached and there are a lot of parking spaces available. The place is quite spacious and clean. It is quite comfortable if you come with family or friends.

Here, you order the food directly from the counter. You can order drinks separately after you sit, a person will come to you and collect your order from your table. The place is usually packed, so they prepare the food in a large batch to serve it quicker. You will not have to wait too long until you get your order.

I ordered one portion of fried duck that cost me only Rp.18.000,- or around $1.35. It is considered cheap, because if you order the same menu from similar restaurant, it usually will cost you around Rp20.000,- to Rp.30.000,-. As usual, they serve it with one portion of rice topped with dark yellow broth, sambal (Indonesian Chilli Paste) and some fresh vegetables. The duck is very juicy and tender but crispy at the same time. You will not get any fishy smell from the duck. The flavor is well balanced, not too salty. The sambal is also not too spicy, this is why everyone can have it. The combination of rice, the yellow broth and sambal is simply fantastic. One thing that you will quickly notice here, the bone from the duck can be eaten and it is very crispy. You can easily crunch the bone in your mouth. They somehow cook it for a very long time with the spices before they fry it. It surely gives you different sensation once you devour it in your mouth. Overall, it was a really great experience for me.

If you are not a fan of duck dishes, you might be able to try this one. It just tastes similar to chicken without any fishy smell. The flavor is also perfect that makes it everyone's favorite.
