The place is called Sari Laut Depan Ubaya 3. It was originally located just right next to Ubaya (University of Surabaya). Right now, they have at least around 4 branches across Surabaya. The one that I tried is Located around Jalan Raya Manyar. Here, they serve quite a lot of fish dishes variation that you can try. They have it on a huge menu card, and you can choose to order from your table or directly from the counter.

Pic2. Variation of Dishes they Serve |
Even though it is just a street food stall, the place is quite clean and comfortable. They have enough long tables and stools that can accommodate probably up to 20 - 25 people. Some street food stall usually use kobokan (a small bowl of water with lemon that is provided on your table for you to wash your hand). But here, they also have a gallon for you to wash your hand.

I came here alone and quite a little bit late at night, so I didn't have the chance to try some of the menu provided. The seller say, one portion of fish is served for up to 2 or 3 people, that is the reason why I just ordered one portion of pecel lele (Fried Catfish served with sambal). The food here, will cost you around Rp. 15.000,- to Rp. 150.000,- or around $1.12 to $11.25. The prices here quite vary, because they also serve crab and of course it is the most expensive one.

Pic4. Very Crispy Pecel Lele |
The fried catfish (Pecel Lele) is served on top of sambal (chilli paste), complimented with fresh vegetables (green bean, cabbage, cucumber) and rice. They made some slices across the fish meat before they fried it and it makes the fish extremely crispy on the outside and still moist in the inside. The sambal (chilli paste) is not too spicy and blends well with the fried catfish and the rice. The also put a sliced lime to balance the taste of the sambal. You will get a combination of spicy, sour and a little bit tangy flavor from the basil leaves mixed in the sambal.
Overall, it was a great meal for me, and I recommend you to try this place. Next time, I will try the other branches and bring more people with me so that I can order and try other menu they serve. As usual, I put the location below for you to explore. Happy Exploring!
