Surabaya is also popular for its Soto Ayam (Yellow Chicken Soup) and Soto Daging (Yellow Beef Soup). However, these two dishes is not actually came from Surabaya, but its neighboring cities. Soto Ayam is a famous dish from Lamongan, and Soto Daging is a famous dish from Madura. This time, I will talk specifically about the Soto Daging one. When you are going to Surabaya and want to try a Soto Daging, this is one of the non-mainstream choice you can try.

The place is called, Warung Soto H. Syafik. What great about this place is, they serve both style of soto as I mentioned above. If you are not into beef, you can order chicken and vice versa. They also have different kind of fresh fruit smoothies you can choose. Here, you can see the menu and the price directly from the sign on the wall. The price is also very cheap. They have variation of menu you can choose ranging around Rp.20.000,- or equal to $1.5 To Order, a guy will come to your table and you can say directly what you want.

The place is quite clean and nice with yellow painting inside. It is my kind of Warung style. Very relaxing and comforting. It is also quite spacious with enough parking space for cars and motorcycles. Surely, my go to place to bring friends or family for breakfast or lunch.

I ordered one portion of Soto Daging (Beef Soto) with beef intestines because it is my favorites. They serve the soup and the rice separately, and you can eat it your style as you want. They also give you a bowl of limes to be squished to the soup. The broth is a little bit heavy, but very refreshing because of the lime. The meat is quite tender, but of course the winner is the intestines for me. Overall it was a very good meal.
